Prince Kopa: Don’t touch our boy (@Kopa, Scar & Simba)
Simba was on the move for a while before he was finally able to catch up with his family. He approached from the opposite side of Scar’s hiding spot and, to be honest, he was so focused on Nala and Kopa that he wasn’t really as alert for his uncle as he probably should be. “There you are,” he sighed. “Scar hasn’t showed up at Priderock, so I came to see if you two were still okay,” he explained.
“Kopa, I-” Nala cut off her sentence as she saw her cub was at the ground. She quickly jumped down, bending down to grab him as she heard someone clearly approaching them. Quickly standing over his little form Nala laid her ears down and let out a growl. Once Simba came into view her mood lightened up. “Simba!” She remained at her spot, standing over Kopa. “Dear, we are both fine. Aren’t you taking a huge risk with this?” she asked urgently. Finally she stepped away from Kopa, sitting down behind him. He deserved to know what was going on and why they left Priderock in such a hurry.
“Kopa.” Nala said calmly. “We left Priderock because we are on the run. Simba’s uncle is back in the Pridelands, and he is very, very dangerous. If he’ll find you, he won’t hesitate to kill you.” The lioness licked the head of her son affectionately. “And I won’t let that happen.”
Kopa’s face contorted to a small wince as Nala’s tongue rasped against the top of his head mussing up his mane a little bit. “Mom…” he complained as a pout appeared on his face as he reached up and clawed it back into place. He became more alert once she mentioned Scar was in the Pridelands once more. “Aw I can take him Mom.” he boasted. “I’ll just roar at him and he’ll run off like a scaredy zebra.” His expression then changed into a small smirk at the very thought of making a grown lion run.
It was amusing how one lion could make a family make a run for it, he could not help but silently smirk to himself. However he could not stay here, as much as he would like to think he could take on Simba and Nala - he couldn’t. So, for the moment all he could do was lay in wait, perhaps when the sun went down he would make his move. On the other hand, he could of turned around and made his way back to Priderock, but he did want his revenge against Simba. ‘Blast…’ He hissed in his mind before lowering himself in the grass and stalking off in the other direction.
As soon as he gathered the Outlander lionesses on the boarders he would take Priderock by force, without Simba guidance his own pride of lionesses would be sitting ducks. After all, Zira was skilled in fighting and strategic movements - so all would be well if they played their cards right. However what ebbed in the back of Scars mind was Simba and Nala catching him out not, for if that happened he would surely die again and he could not let such a thing happen to him again. If anyone was going to die it would be Simba.
Simba looked around nervously. “Maybe waiting out here isn’t such a good idea, Nala,” he said. “Scar will find us anywhere. Age hasn’t dulled his mind any, I’m sure. Here it’s just you and me against him and whoever he decides to bring with him. Back at Priderock we have the whole pride to help protect him,” he pointed out. He looked down at Kopa and narrowed his eyes slightly.
“Kopa, this is no laughing matter,” he said sternly. “Scar is very dangerous. You wouldn’t stand a chance if you tried to fight him.”
Simba shook his head. “No. I’m not sure if you’ve heard or not, but Scar is back and Nala thinks that he might be after Kopa.”
Five asks… not a notification for any of them. So… if you’ve sent me an ask in the past couple weeks and I haven’t answered, that would be why))

“No Kopa, carry on now. Or do you want me to carry you?” Nala stopped at the rustling of the grasses and lifted her head to spy across the savanna. No sign of Scar. A few giraffes made their way through a few miles ahead. When she saw he wasn’t moving on Nala walked back and picked Kopa up herself. She wasn’t like this; snappy and impatient. But that wasn’t the matter; danger lured and she had to get her cub safe. That is her top priority. Every animal knew how dangerous a mother would be with a cub; even more dangerous than a hippo with a hernia.
After a few miles through the grasses, Nala made it to an area full of acia trees. She stopped at one think enough to hold both her and her cub and the lioness put Kopa down. “Kopa,” she panted slightly, sweetness coming back to her voice. “You don’t even know why we’re here, do you? Or why I’m being snappy at you.” A small rustle made Nala tense at the spot. “Get in that tree, now!”
The cub began to pout slightly. She didn’t even answer his question! He wasn’t exactly used to his mother snapping at him like she was. “We’re here because we’re walking around looking for someplace to play.” he replied as he walked over to a nearby acacia tree and tried his best to climb it. “It’s too big around!” he complained as he fell back to the ground with a thump.
Scar frowned and ducked into the grass, she was very high strung right now. Not relaxed, this was expected - this was what he wanted, for her to be on edge about her sound and movement. The cup was adventerous and curious, just like Simba was at such an age, should he use that to his advantage? Perhaps, then again nothing to hasty - he did not wish to get attacked by Nala, a mothers fury was deadly.
“Hm.” He pushed his body into the ground and lay in wait, once night fell that would the prime time to get to the boy. Scar did not know exactly what he would do with him, killing him seemed too easy - he could always be used for levrage over Simba. His brows shot up as he noticed the cub fall from a tree, that was rather pathetic - by such an age he was able to climb acia trees, granted his mother had to present and he needed Mufasa’s encouragment. But still this cub was an easy target, that was probably why Nala was not leaving his side anytime soon - what a bother.

Prince Kopa: Don’t touch our boy (@Kopa, Scar & Simba)
Usually, when Nala took her son for a hike, she would feel content, happy, but alert. But now all she felt was stress and the quick pounding of her heart. Scar had returned in the Pridelands and he had already left a mark on herself; a nasty scratch running from her shoulder to her chest. “Come on Kopa, don’t dawdle now.” Nala was in a haste. She may have sounded snappier than usual but she couldn’t afford any stops now. She had to hide Kopa. With Scar in the Pridelands it was too dangerous to keep him at Priderock, Scar would look there first… Nala wouldn’t want to think of what he’d do if he found Kopa.
After she had gone back to Priderock, Rafiki had taken care of her injury. Right after he left, Nala went to fetch Kopa and now they were a long time away from Pride rock, but more important, away from Scar. She stopped at a log, hidden by the tall grass. They would rest here for a while.
Kopa had been back at Pride Rock for the entire morning when his mother had come in, breathing quite hard and telling him that they had to leave immediately. “Alright Mom!” The cub complied as trotted along behind Nala, his attention locking onto everything possible as they walked through the grass. “Mom look! A bug!” the young prince called out as he leaned down and watched a centipede crawl across his path. He unfortunately didn’t realize the urgency, or really pay attention for that matter , of Nala’s voice when she told him to hurry up.
Well, the morning had become quite of an amusement to Scar on his return. Nala had encountered him as well as Simba, word of the former kings return was spreading like wildfire throughout the savanna. He had decided to go after Simba on a much later note, getting to Nala was the prime objective and to this little cub he had been hearing so much about. He had already met the lad briefly but even in that moment he could tell who his father was, the resemblance was uncanny. Picking up Nala’s scent however was becoming more and more difficult, she had most likely went to the marshier land, covering her tracks and scent with the mud and damp grass.
“Where are you…?” He growled under his breath and scratched his chin with one clawed hand, but in this dark grass it was easy to spot a golden furred lion. But it was much more of a challange to see a lion with such a dark pelt as Scar had, he would use that to his advantage. However his ears perked up at the shift in movement, he lowered himself to the grass as he spotted the pair - his emerald eyes flickered over Nala’s for with mild interest. Soon, his eyes were fixated on Kopa - once he had eliminated the prince and then the king, everything would his once again. But how to lure the child away from his mother? That was the hard part, there was nothing more deadly than a lioness protecting her cubs - there was a chance that he could seriously get hurt.
Simba had chosen to stay behind at Pride Rock for the time being, tough his rising concern for the safety of his mate and cub was making him antsy. He stood at the tip of the rock, scanning the Pridelands for any signs of Scar. They had expected him to come straight to Priderock looking for Kopa and his revenge but as the sun climbed ever higher in the sky there was still no sign of him.
Finally, the king could take it no longer. The pride would be able to hold their own here if Scar did finally show up, but he felt that he needed to be with his family to protect them if necessary. Simba couldn’t get the image of the wound Scar had left on Nala out of his mind. Pain made it difficult for even the strongest lions to fight back. He made his way down from the pile of rocks and made a beeline towards where he knew his mate was taking Kopa.
The russet brown lion snarled and turned himself around once he caught a whiff of another male lion. However it was not just any old lion, it was Simba - anger mixed in with jealousy flashed plainly in his emerald eyes, it was time he reclaimed his throne and made Nala his queen. Everything was denied to him from the moment he was born, he had committed the ultimate crime in murdering his brother. He would feel no different killing his nephew, however it was easier said than done - plus he had a very tight order of plans to carry out. “Simba, what a suprise~” He said that in the most sarcastic tone he could muster, his claws flexed against the ground his teeth barred just incase the lion decided to attack him.
He shook his black mane and took a defensive stance, at least there were no hyenas around. That is what led to his downfall and his tonuge, the memory was stuck within his mind like a festering wound - teeth flesh and claws and heavy weight down upon his body. “I love family reunions, don’t you?” He chuckled darkly and pushed himself on the ground, should Simba pounce he would be ready for him. It was least likely, but you could never be too sure - after all the boy had been taught by Mufasa before his death and Mufasa had been taught by Ahadi, and that lion was ruthless.
So the rumors were true… Simba had caught a whiff of a familiar scent and denial could only keep him from following it for so long. His worst fears were confirmed when he finally spotted his uncle. His lip curled upwards, revealing sharp canines as Scar spoke. The tone in his voice sent a shiver down his spine and he wanted nothing more to just jump on the leaner lion and tear him to shreds. But no. Simba was a king and kings had more dignity than that. He would start with a diplomatic approach to try and get Scar to leave even though he knew in the back of his mind that it wouldn’t work. The golden lion stood tall as his uncle slipped into his defensive posture, expecting a fight.
Simba wouldn’t attack just yet, but he wouldn’t put it passed Scar to try and catch him off guard. He lowered his chin to protect his throat if the other lion decided to lunge unexpectedly. Normally, his mane would offer a layer of protection, but the king knew from experience that it would be enough. He’d felt Scar’s teeth on his neck before. “Don’t bother,” he growled when Scar spoke of family reunions. “What are you doing here?” His muscles tensed and his claws flexed, leaving little rivets in the dirt beneath his large paws. His priority had to be getting Scar away from his family. Now that this threat had returned, Kopa would never be allowed to leave Pride Rock again unless he had an adult lion with him. After all, Simba knew that his uncle wasn’t above making a cub a victim.

“But Dad..I’m big now. I can swim real good. Watch!” Kopa kicked his feet as hard as he could, pushing himself away from his father’s paws. “See?” he called out as he swam. Suddenly, a small riptide pulled the prince under causing little Kopa to tumble to and fro under the waves. The poor cub could barely keep his head up when he resurfaced momentarily. “Da-!”
Nala made her way through the pridelands as she spotted two familiar sights at the waterpool. Her family would always bring a smile to her face. The lioness walked over to the two, approaching them from the side. “Well guys, I’d like to know why I wasn’t invited for this little trip.” Nala started as hey two teal eyes registered the situation fast. Her instinct told her to act right at the spot and pull her cub out of the water. She leaped into the water, ignoring her own disliking for swimming. She could swim; she just chose not to. After the first moments of disorientation when her fur connected with the water, she screened the water for the sign of something brownish gold. Her head went underwater as well and grabbed her cub.
They both emerged from the water, and Nala put Kopa down next to Simba, giving him the change to catch his breath and calm down. She climbed out herself and shook her pelt dry, hating the feeling of wet fur. It slowed her down. “I hope you enjoyed that swimming lesson,” she said.
Simba was momentarily frozen to the spot when Kopa was sucked under. He was ready to act a moment too late and Nala was ahead of him. He watched anxiously, ready to dive in to help. It wasn’t that he doubted Nala’s ability to swim and save their son, but it never failed to be prepared, right? He relaxed, letting out a breath of relief when she reappeared with Kopa carried safely in her jaws. He turned back towards the shore and nudged the prince gently. “You sure picked a rough time to show up,” he said to Nala, smiling up at her.
